Haryana Govt To Come-Up With Rebate Scheme For Enhancement Dues of Huda Plots

Gurugram:  The state government is coming up with another rebate scheme for payment of enhancement dues for plots allotted by Huda. The agency will also be recalculating the enhancement dues keeping in mind issues raised by allottees. However, the relaxation will be less than what was offered under a scheme introduced two months ago.

The old scheme allowed 40% rebate with the agency managing to collect Rs 850 crore against total dues of Rs 1,400 crore. On Monday, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the new scheme would be for those who did not avail the old scheme but this time, the relaxation would be less so that those who had did not feel that they made a mistake by making the payment earlier.

Khattar said that the decision was taken after some allottees, who were yet to pay, raised the issue with him and wanted to get it resolved. “Most of the demands which the allottees raised have been accepted by the state government, except two for which a committee of three retired judges has been constituted,” Khattar said.

Meanwhile, HUDA has started the process of recalculation of enhancement costs. The dues will not include un-acquired land and land used for external development work — police stations, school sites and community buildings will not be considered common but roads and parks will be. Huda will charge 7% simple interest for payment within six months of demand, 9% after one-year delay, 10% after two-year delay, and 12% for delay beyond three years.
